These terms apply when you use Lekhya. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, please ask us — the address is at the bottom.

1. What Lekhya is

Lekhya is a personal finance app that runs entirely on your device. It records money you tell it about — by reading payment alerts on your phone, by parsing a message you share or copy, or by you typing it in — and helps you see and plan your spending.

Lekhya does not connect to your bank. It does not move money, hold money, or execute any transaction. It has no access to any account of yours. It reads notifications and messages that are already on your phone, and nothing more.

2. Lekhya is not financial advice

3. Accuracy of automatic capture

Lekhya reads payment alerts using patterns that recognise common Indian bank and UPI message formats. Banks change their wording without notice, and some formats are ambiguous. So automatic capture is a convenience, not a guarantee:

4. Backups and your passphrase

You are responsible for making backups. Uninstalling the app, wiping the device, or losing the phone will destroy your data if you have not exported it. Lekhya reminds you to back up, but it cannot do it for you — it has nowhere to put a copy.

5. Lekhya Pro, tips and payment

6. How you may use Lekhya

You may install and use Lekhya on the devices you own or control, for personal use. Please do not attempt to resell it, redistribute a modified copy, or circumvent the Pro purchase.

You are responsible for using Lekhya lawfully and for the accuracy of whatever you enter.

7. No warranty

Lekhya is provided "as is". We have tested it carefully and we use it ourselves, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will suit any particular purpose of yours.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Lekhya — including lost data, a missed payment, or a financial decision you made using figures the app displayed.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Indian law.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update the version and effective date above. Continuing to use Lekhya after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be mentioned in the app's release notes.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
